As such, I’m a bit terrified. I start my first “career” job, sign a lease, and open a new bank account. I just don’t want to screw any of it up.
I try and psyche myself up, I know I’ve got a lot going for me.
I’m 23, I’ve got my masters degree, I have practical skills which compliment my career path, I learn new skills quickly (yay 158 IQ) and everyone at the firm seems overly excited for me to work there.
Unfortunately, I’m also socially awkward (although I’ve been told that comes across as charming), and I have trouble asserting myself due to an immense fear of rejection.
Anyway...
I’m gonna go to sleep soon, but I’m binge watching Supergirl on Netflix in the meantime. Which is surprisingly good by the way.

Find a mentor who is moving up the ladder if you can. Mine has been invaluable in regards to exposure to our execs and making sure I am working on the “right” projects.

That's a lot for one day. However I'm going to assume you're more than up to it due to the other things you mentioned.

Believe it or not, I consider myself to be socially awkward/anxious as well, out of fear being judged and tallied on everything. Unfortunately, shit happens in real life, just as stated in Murphy’s Law, and so is screwing up. So we just have to live with it.
Screwing up is fine, is what you learn out of the screw up that matters.

Eh, the Elite was never meant to set blistering lap times. That was basically the “Lotus SUV” ala Porsche Cayenne of its day; a more comfortable (for a Lotus) to keep the company afloat so they could keep making better cars.
So yes, it should handle well, but there sold very few and this one is obviously being driven. I love that and don't mind the dumb ride height.

I used to be socially awkward. Then I realized that you either click with people or you don’t, and as long as you aren’t outright mean or rude no one really cares. I’d rather be honest and be myself than be obviously fake.
Edit: other people might still label me socially awkward but now I'm just easily entertained rather than constantly stressed about it :)

You’ll be fine. It’s seems daunting now because it’s all new. When I got my first real job it was a month out of college, and I my parents happened to move to different town over a hour away for work. When I got back from new hire training I moved into my own place and a week later I was the only family member left in my home town.
There will be times you feel over your head, but that to will pass. Just work hard and listen to people willing to give advice. You don’t have to follow all of it but it never hurts to listen.

I learned that too. If you treat everyone you meet the same (like a nice, normal person) then some people will want to be your friends, and others will just like you as a good coworker to talk to.

Youll be fine as long as youve picked the right path for you. I did the same (proper job, flat etc) and it fell apart but because I hadnt probed enough and the job was spectacularly wrong for me.

Living in the real world and actually having positive money instead of negative money is so much better! Sure I still have a mountain of student loans but at least I have actual savings and go on vacations instead of deciding if eating this week is worth the extra credit card debt. Being in college always felt like I had no money or time to do anything. Now that I am in the real world, I have free time on weekends, a paycheck every two weeks, and enough vacation time to plan out really cool trips. If anything being an adult is the best thing ever!

“I have trouble asserting myself due to an immense fear of rejection.”
A lot of people do, in my career as an engineer I have found that people will respect you and appreciate it if you can make a decision and explain why you did, even if it doesn’t turn out to be perfect.

You got this. Show up a little early every morning, work hard (leave OPPO to evenings only for 6 months), help out others when you can, learn as much as you can as quickly as possible, accept invitations to lunch & happy hours, and don’t be a “clockwatcher”.
All that said, don’t adult too hard!
